Semester fees

Semester fees at OVGU amount to 277.90 EUR. This sum comprises:

• 90.00 EUR „Studentenwerk“ fees
• 176.40 EUR Deutschlandsemesterticket 
• 11.50 EUR Student Council (StuRa) fees
• Information on re-registration

Reimbursement of your semester fee after re-registration

The amount that can be refunded is subject to the date on which you were de-registered as a students. For this reason, please note the individual deadlines.

Case 1: De-registration by 24.09./24.03. - full refund of the semester fee possible

The Deutschlandsemesterticket and the Student Union's fee as well as the Student Council's contribution are refunded in two stages. 

Firstly, your application for de-registration must be submitted in full by 15.09./15.03. (deadline) (including the discharge note from Security regarding any parking permit) to or by post or by handing it in in person to the WelcomeDesk at the Campus Welcome Center (building 01 on the main campus). Alternatively you can de-register in person during the opening hours of the Student's Office by 24.09./24.03. Here too the application for de-registration must be completed in full before being submitted. To do this, please book an appointment in good time.

The Deutschlandsemesterticket will be refunded by no later than the end of October/end of April to the account from which the semester fee was paid.

 To receive a refund for the Student Union's fee and the Student Council's contribution, please submit your application for a refund by 31.10./30.04. (deadline) to the Student Union in Magdeburg by post, in person or to . This part of the sum will be refunded in the course of the semester for which the fees were paid. Case 2: De-registration after 25.09./25.03. - only partial refund of the semester fee possible

It is no longer possible to obtain a refund for the Deutschlandsemesterticket if you de-register after 25.09./25.03. Please activate your Deutschlandsemesterticket before you submit your application for de-registration.

To receive a refund for the Student Union's fee and the Student Council's contribution, please submit your application for a refund by 31.10./30.04. (deadline) to the Student Union in Magdeburg by post, in person or to . This part of the sum will be refunded in the course of the semester for which the fees were paid. Reimbursement of the semester fee without re-registration

Should you have paid the semester fee or a part thereof but for a variety of reasons have not re-registered, the sum will automatically be refunded to you during the semester for which it was paid.

Enrollment waiver

After enrolling for the first time ever or in a new course of study, you can apply for a waiver of this enrollment before 30.09. for winter semester and before 31.03. for summer semester. This does not apply to re-registrations.

The amount that can be refunded depends on the date on which your application for waiver of enrollment has been received in full (application form in original and student ID) by the Student's Office of OVGU. The date of receipt at OVGU always applies.

If the application for waiver of enrollment has been received by 20.09. (enrollment for winter semester) or by 20.03. (enrollment for summer semester) a full refund of the semester fee is possible.

If you submit the application form between 20.09/20.03. and 30.09./31.03., only the fee for the Student Union of Magdeburg and the Student Council of OVGU can be refunded. A refund of the fee for the Deutschlandsemesterticket is no longer possible but the ticket can still be used for the entire semester, provided that the Deutschlandsemesterticket has been activated before submission of the application for waiver of enrollment. Once your application has been processed, your data will be deleted and it will no longer be possible to activate the ticket. 

After 30.09./31.03., enrollment can no longer be canceled. Please submit the application for de-registration. 

Please send the application for waiver of enrollment together with your student ID to the Student's Office of OVGU or submit the documents in person at the WelcomeDesk of the Campus Welcome Center (building 01).
