Continuing education programmes introduce themselves

With the start of the upcoming winter semester, the Faculty of Human Sciences is offering various continuing education courses. To give interested individuals a better understanding of the course content, the Center for Academic Continuing Education is hosting the forum “Continuing Education – Think Ahead!” on July 2, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. In the foyer outside Lecture Hall 6, instructors from the various programs will answer visitors’ questions. In Building 40, Room 036, from 3:30 to 3:50 p.m., the part-time master’s program in “Adult Education” will present from 4:00 to 4:20 p.m., “Project Management” and “Project Leadership and Team Development,” and from 4:30 to 4:50 p.m., “Qualitative Educational and Social Research.” Online participation is also available. Have you ever wondered what would personally help you when stress or pressures at work and in daily life get out of hand? The Institute for Social Medicine and Health Systems Research is testing a digital platform designed to help you monitor your mental well-being in everyday life and find the right support. What Artificial Intelligence Can Do

The traveling exhibition “I AM A.I.,” currently on display on the upper level of the cafeteria on the main campus, will remain open through July 31, 2026, and explores how artificial intelligence works and its societal implications. The exhibition addresses not only its potential but also its key challenges. Guided tours can be arranged upon request through the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Mathematics. 

The Federal Ministry of Justice in the shadow of its Nazi past

The traveling exhibition “Die Rosenburg – The Federal Ministry of Justice in the Shadow of the Nazi Past” will conclude with a special closing event at the University Library on June 17, 2026. Following opening remarks, there will be a panel discussion with Federal Minister of Justice Dr. Stefanie Hubig.

AI in medicine – ethical opportunities and challenges

AI is rapidly making its way into the field of medicine. At the 11th Ethics Day organised by the Clinical Ethics Committee on 18 June 2026, various aspects of this topic will be examined in detail. Interruption to the heating supply

The heat supply must be temporarily interrupted for the final time from May 4, 2026, through October 4, 2026. This is due to remaining work on the new local heating network on the main campus. Technical facilities that require heat year-round will be temporarily supplied by mobile heating units.

The Science Harbour through the viewfinder

PORT . TIME . JOURNEY is the title of an exhibition that will open on April 28, 2026, at 2 p.m. with a vernissage at the Wissenschaftshafen. Running through September 27, 2026, the exhibition showcases the photographic explorations of participants in the “Digital Photography Practice” course within our university’s “Studying at 50” program, focusing on the Wissenschaftshafen site —the site’s metamorphosis from a commercial port serving as a transshipment, storage, and anchorage point into a center for innovation, knowledge transfer, urban life, leisure, and culture.
