Julia Pretschner and Hannah Mielke met whilst studying at the University of Magdeburg. Today, they are working together on a smart fall detection system for older people.

For Elicia Vetter and Lucie Kolbe, physical education classes this summer term were different from usual. Normally, the two teacher-training students attend their sports science modules – their minor subject – on the university campus. This time, however, their studies took them to the University of Jyväskylä in Finland for five days.

The University of Magdeburg is carrying out a major redevelopment of its campus on Universitätsplatz – for around 13,000 students, international talent and a university that aims to be physically equipped for the future.
