Anti-Discrimination
Discrimination describes the disfavoring of people because of their sex, race or ethnic origin, religion or world view, age, disability or sexual orientation (Article 3 of Germany’s Basic Constitutional Law).
We make a distinction between direct and indirect discrimination, as defined by the “General Act on Equal Treatment” (AGG), (18 August 2006).
OVGU distances itself from any form of discrimination and promotes the clear, reliable, respectful and transparent coexistence of the members of the University within the context of the principle of diversity. The aim is to continue to develop protection from discrimination at OVGU so as to enable a low threshold and ease of access.
Since October 2023, the OVGU's awareness portal has been the reporting platform for cases of discrimination, disadvantage, (sexual) harassment and violence, as well as for feedback on studying and teaching. You can find more information here
In April 2022, the OVGU concluded an inclusion agreement. You can find more information here. (only in German)
